Cognitive biases in Operation und Supply Chain Management

Betreuerin / PhD SupervisorProf. Dr. oec. Julia Arlinghaus

Am 14. Juni 2023 verteidigte Frau Dr. rer. pol.

On 14 June 2023, Dr. rer. pol. Melanie Kessler defended her doctorate on the topic of "Cognitive biases in operation and supply chain management". The doctorate was supervised by Prof. Arlinghaus.

Human decision-making is far from being rational. Rather, so-called cognitive biases influence our decision-making results with considerable impact on various areas such as logistics performance, supply chain risk management, etc. Especially in times of digitalisation, the question arises who is the better decision maker, humans or machine? Further we need to create digital support systems to support humans in their decision making in the best possible way.
